Describe experiencing thrill. A little tricky, huh? That same loss for words comes when pinpointing the sound of Thrills. It’s a slew of things. The same way you tell someone how you wish you could show them a moment rather than explaining it, that is Thrills. It’s big, electric. It’s bridging the moment and the feeling together, all at the same time…and sometimes, those moments are a collection of where you’ve been and who you have been. If it makes you feel better to get a genre-box and place them inside of it, we can go there. It’s pop, but heavy with trap drums and cadences. It’s Latino and Afro-Pop inspired, showing you new pockets to explore. They’re emotionally driven and compelling, but leave you feeling good despite. They’re reflective and reminiscent. It’s a combination of many things that at the end of the day amount to just one thing: the thrill of it all. One half of the group, K Wills, takes pieces of Steely Dan, Timbaland, The Neptunes, and Stevie Wonder and allows their legacies to influence how he creates his own landscapes. A concoction of room-rattling 808’s, resonating pads, and dreamy vocal chops are a product of K Wills’ genius. The remaining half of Thrills — Natalie D’Orlando, was molded by her hometown of Atlanta. In growing up with an immigrant mother and an worldly father, Natalie’s influences wouldn’t have been as global as they are today. By applying ballad-style lyrics to energetic beats she finds solace in storytelling.
Fury is an international pop love affair of off-the-wall passion.
